Illustrators, Artists & Animators.
Tim Burton - www.timburton.com
Burton is one of my favourite artists and animators. His style is very unique and is very much about the person he is, which is even cooler. Tim's credits include The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, Batman, and most recently Alice In Wonderland.
Ray Harryhausen - www.rayharryhausen.com
Harryhausen along with Tim Burton had the biggest impact on my childhood. He is an American film producer and a special effects creator most famous for his brand of stop-motion model animation, sometimes called Dynamation. His most notable works are his animation on Mighty Joe Young (1949), The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts, featuring a famous sword fight against seven skeleton warriors.
Jimbo Phillips - www.jimbophillips.com
Jimbo is an artist from Santa Cruz, California. His father Jim
Phillips designed all the artwork for Santa Cruz Skateboards in the 70s & 80s including the famous "Screaming Hand" logo. The Phillips family are one of my main influences in my artwork.
Nate Wragg - www.n8wragg.blogspot.com
Nate works at Pixar Animation Studios while also doing his own projects. His style was most recently used to animate the credits for the Oscar
winning animation, Rataouille.
Si Mitchell - www.art-simonmitchell.blogspot.com
Si Mitchell has a style that he can pretty much apply to any drawing he does. He works as a tattooist while creating illustrations for exhibitions, bands, t-shirts, comics etc.
Tom Gauld -
www.tomgauld.com
Tom Gauld is a cartoonist and illustrator in London.
He draws a weekly cartoon for The Guardian newspaper
and has created a number of comic books. And again, his work is a huge influence in my style.
Gustave Dore - www.gustavedoreart.com/flipbook
Paul Gustave Doré (1832-83) is the most popular and successful French book illustrator of the mid 19th century. Doré became very widely known for his illustrations to such books as Dante's Inferno (The Divine Comedy) (1861), Don Quixote (1862), and the Bible (1866). His work is really inspiring; not only for his vision but his methods as he worked primarily with wood/steel engravings.
Colin Fix - www.colinfix.blogspot.com
Colin Fix worked as a Senior Character Designer on the video game, BioShock 2. His blog has a lot of concept art from the game and also some personal sketchbook entries which are stunning.

UK stencil artist, PAHNL has been stenciling since 2003. He recently got listed to exhibit at the V&A this year (2010) at the Street Art exhibtion.
Paul Jackson - www.officeofpauljackson.co.uk
Paul Jackson is a freelance illustrator based in London. He taught me recently in my first year of my degree. I've learnt a lot of from him already and thought I'd share his website with you.
Egon Schiele - www.egon-schiele.net
Egon was an Austrian painter, a protégé of Gustav Klimt, and a major figurative painter of the early 20th century. His work to me was so ahead of his time and his portraits of himself and others are fantastic.
